Importance of Ashura

Ashura is the tenth day of Muharram. The Prophet ﷺ fasted it and commanded fasting it. It is said that fasting it expiates the past year.

On this day Allah saved Musa from Pharaoh; the Prophet ﷺ fasted it in gratitude. The people of Makkah fasted it before Islam.

Fasting the day of Ashura (preferably with the ninth of Muharram), supplication and seeking forgiveness, and remembering the virtue of the day.

Prayer / Dua

Allahumma innaka afuwwun tuhibbul afwa fa'fu anni

O Allah, You are the Pardoner, You love to pardon, so pardon me.
