Eid al-Adha
Importance of Eid al-Adha
Eid al-Adha is the day of sacrifice after Arafat; Muslims offer udhiyah (sacrifice) to draw near to Allah and revive the tradition of Ibrahim (AS).
History of Eid al-Adha
Allah commanded Ibrahim to sacrifice his son Isma'il and then ransomed him with a great ram. Sacrifice was prescribed for Muslims in the second year after Hijrah.
Ways to Celebrate
Eid prayer, offering udhiyah and distributing it, Takbir, congratulations, visiting family, and showing joy and gratitude to Allah.
Allahumma innaka afuwwun tuhibbul afwa fa'fu anni
